CERTIFICATES OF COMPLIANCE

Manufacturers and suppliers of packaging and packaging components are required to furnish a certificate of compliance to customers upon request. This applies only to companies who actually put their products in the package and does not apply to the retailer or the individual consumer. The public and state also have access to these certificates.

TPCH Members have developed the following sample Certificates of Compliance (COC) for manufacturers and suppliers to use if they wish. The first version certifies for the 4 heavy metals in the original laws. The second version is specific to new state laws regarding PFAS in packaging that have been passed since the 2021 Updated Model Legislation. And the third version is a 2-page COC which covers both the heavy metals and PFAS in one form.
